Well Adjusted
A Farce
in 2 acts
By Phil Horst
Coming to FringeNYC 2014
Synopsis
What starts as a normal movie night with a couple of friends quickly descends into disaster when Mark runs into Ben's ex-girlfriend Abby and invites her to Kate's house for a party. The main problem is that it isn’t a party; there is no food, drinks or guests. Also, nobody has seen Abby in over a year, and they all hate her. Most importantly, Ben is wearing sweatpants and hasn’t completely recovered from the breakup.
The four friends must band together in order to throw the most respectable adult party of their lives while pretending they've grown up much more than they have. Sure, they may have to pretend to be pregnant, or dating a stripper, or engaged, or a lesbian; but it'll all be worth it if Abby believes they're well adjusted.
Approximate runtime: 95 minutes (including a 15 minute intermission)
